I have nothing much to write about today. Nothing often has negative connotations in English, but it needn’t be.
Like its close cousin “empty”, nothing isn’t necessarily a bad thing: “nothing on the calendar” means space to fill the day with possibilities, “empty notebook” is waiting to be filled with new ideas. A filled vessel cannot change its contents easily. But an empty one is ready to receive. I can’t wait until we get to the end of the semester and my calendar and brain can be emptied when I take a week off, and then start filling them up again with new and interesting things.
Maybe tomorrow there will be something. Who knows? Check back!
